ELDT Schools Revoked. The Registry Posted the Names. They Aren't All Schools.

Here’s their names.

FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry updated overnight. The export I pulled this morning carries 103 providers with an emergency removal flag dated August 31, the day Secretary Duffy announced the shutdown from a podium in Detroit. DOT’s number was “more than 110,” and the registry will likely catch up as the last entries post, so treat 103 as the floor. Everyone is now listed as removed, and the registry stopped accepting completion records from them as of that date. Duffy called them driving schools. The list says something more specific.

Twenty of the 103 are in Pennsylvania, and seventeen of those sit in the Philadelphia footprint. Nine are inside a few miles of each other in lower Bucks County: three in Feasterville-Trevose, one in Feasterville, two in Southampton, one each in Bensalem, Fairless Hills and Morrisville. Seven more carry Philadelphia addresses. Texas and California have fifteen apiece, and the Texas count is mostly one town, with six providers in El Paso and a seventh next door in Canutillo. Florida has fourteen, Ohio ten. Ohio’s ten include a pair in Dayton, Troy Parking LLC and Troy CDL School LLC, and a pair in the Mason and West Chester suburbs of Cincinnati that both use the name Hebron Trucking, one as a legal name and one as a DBA. Nine providers inside a few miles of each other is a cluster, and clusters like that are what the registry has always looked like once you put it on a map next to the carrier census.

Roughly a quarter of the 103 had an online theory location on the registry as of the August 5 export. Some of the names tell you what they were selling. ELDT.com, registered as “The $25 ELDT Solution,” out of Spokane Valley. ELDT Chimp in Palm Coast, Florida. CDLELDTPREP in Haines City. SaferELDT and SaferTraining, two registrations at the same Hattiesburg, Mississippi address. Driving-Tests.org, whose registered address is Hamilton, Ontario. CDL Direct in El Paso and ELDT Direct in Riverside, California, two registrations sharing one website and one email. One provider in Palm Coast registered under the name National Highway Safety Administration, LLC, with the DBA NHSA. Those are the theory mills the industry has complained about since February 2022, the ones that sell the classroom half of the certificate for the price of a tank of fuel and let the range half sort itself out. FMCSA took them off in the same stroke as the storefronts.

At least fourteen of the names on the list aren’t schools at all by any plain reading. X-Trans, N-Trans, Jorgo Trans, USMAT Trans, Davlat Trans, KMT Logistics, State 44 Transport, ANET Transport, I&H Truck, Freighter LLC, Diversity Freight Lines, Cyber Express, US Express Services, Driveline Carrier. Those are motor carrier names registered as training providers, which is legal and common. A carrier trains its own driver, certifies him, hires him, and puts him under its own ELD. When the same building signs every line of a driver’s file, nobody outside that building ever checked any of it. I wrote about that model yesterday and called it the company store. The registry just published fourteen storefronts for it.

One entry is a public school. Western Area Career & Technology Center in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, a county vocational center, carries the same emergency removal flag as the $25 online outfit. I don’t know what FMCSA found there.

Emergency removal is the registry’s tool for a provider FMCSA has decided it can’t wait on, and each provider on the list gets notice and a chance to answer. What’s already true, process or not, is that the drivers those 103 certified are holding CDLs today, the carriers that hired them are posted on the load boards, and none of that shows up on an authority-and-insurance check. If you run a fleet, pull your driver qualification files and match ELDT certificates against the removed list before your insurer does it for you. If you’re a broker, the carriers you tendered to all summer passed your vetting. The question your vetting never asked is where their drivers came from.

Emergency removals and proposed removals are FMCSA actions. Nothing here is a finding of wrongdoing against any named provider. Registry data as exported September 1, 2026.
