This is the anatomy of how a trucking company gets built, and how that same anatomy gets dissected after the wreck. The two are the same document set, read in opposite directions.
Rob, this should be required reading by every legislator at the state and federal level. It’s follow on effect would validate the direction this country is going; bolstering the high trust society that generated this system or continued ‘enshittification’ of what was once a dynamic ecosystem that held great promise in 1982 with the unburdening of regulations. I am disgusted and dismayed at the continued lack of accountability in this industry and society as a whole. After 50 years in this industry, unless there is a positive change through the bludgeon of Montgomery vs Caribbe in the near future, I am looking at other pastures. Disheartening!
Coming from the rail industry, these have rapidly become the highlight of my Substack reading. Thanks for sharing, thanks for caring, and please keep up the good fight.

It's an excellent piece, with application broader than the trucking context. Well done.
